We can't wait for you to join us! Whether you're an incoming 7th grader or a student who is new to our district, here are some quick tips to help with your transition.
Schedule Our students transition between classrooms for all subjects areas. No worries! Each student will have a team with classrooms in a centralized area to help with transitions! The schedule will take time to get used to - teachers are understanding and will help point students in the right direction.
PE Uniform Our students change into PE uniforms during their daily PE class. You can find the uniforms for purchase at the following stores:
Sharp Sports 403 Earl Rd, Shorewood, IL 60404 (815) 729-9509
Ken Woody Sports 3000 W. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL 60435 (815) 725-2130
Please make sure your student has deodorant, socks, and a pair of gym shoes to keep in his/her locker. Students are responsible for bringing home his/her uniform at the end of every week to be washed.
Clubs and Activities Make sure to try out some of the amazing clubs and activities TMS has to offer. Activity buses are available for a majority of the after school activities and depart the building around 4 pm. First Day Incoming students will get the opportunity to walk his/her schedule on Meet and Greet day prior to the beginning of the school year. Students who transition into the building throughout the school year will meet with a staff member to review procedures and walk through his/her schedule with a "buddy" prior to transitioning into the classroom.
Combination Locks Students will use a combination lock for their hallway and PE locker. Hallway locks are built into the locker and PE locks will be distributed on the students' first day. All of our students take time to learn their combinations and assistance is just a moment away with teachers present throughout the hallways. For extra help, try out an app like Combo Lock 101 to practice at home! Practice makes perfect!
Lunchroom Students have a daily lunch period. Students may bring cold lunch or choose from the entree or a la carte hot lunch options during his/her 1st period class. Parents can add money to a students account online.
Bus TMS and WBO students will unload/load their buses in the parking lot between the two buildings. In the beginning of the school year, staff will hold signs and be available to lead students to the correct building entrance and/or bus. New students throughout the school year will be offered assistance in locating their bus. Staff is present throughout the lot every day to assist with any student concerns.
